Look Up!

Although I feel I have become lost to the world
I am still right where I am.
Where I was yesterday,
where I was days before.

The sun still shines.
The clouds still drift across blue horizons
giving shape to imagination.
Then darken and release life-giving raindrops, soft and cool.

All I need do is go outside and look up,
Look up and see what I do not see shuffling my feet.
Look up and feel my heart soar with clarity of a clear blue sky.
Look up and find my muse in the world that surrounds me.

Fills my eyes with color,
Whistles pass my ears in song,
Blows away the pity pall surrounding my heart,
Warms my skin and hair.

Reminds me love and friendship are real
with hugs warm and tender.
Sincerity still lingers in thoughts and good wishes,
reminding me to touch the keyboard and smile.

It is time to take back my muse.
Time to bring the dragon home.
Time to clear the clutter from my mind.
Time to clear the desk of piles of promises.

It is time to bring back that spark.
The one that holds me a willing captive,
with fingers flying across the keyboard.
Time to buckle down, lift my chin, and write.

Gloran, spread your powerful wings and take me on an adventure!

Oh wow, KS -- what a beautiful and moving poem. I related so well. Yes, yes to looking up, seeing the drifting clouds across the blue sky, and seeing all the shapes of possibility in them. Nature heals, nature inspires, as do love and friendship. Never fear, KS -- your muse is filled with spark. I heard her loud and clear, singing gorgeously in this poem. And Glorian will be along, too -- he's heard your song and knows the way home. :)
